Candidates for 2 PhD positions funded by the VSM have been selected

The Vienna School of Mathematics (VSM) is happy to announce that candidates for 2 further PhD positions funded by the VSM have been selected.

The following successful candidates started working at the Faculty of Mathematics on October 3, 2022:

Yannic Wenzel (Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Paris Lodron University of Salzburg, Master 1 in Applied Mathematics, Université Paris-Dauphine-PSL, Master 2 in Random Models and Applied Probabilities, Sorbonne Université) PhD Project: Probabilistic Models in Quantitative Genetics, Supervisor: Emmanuel Schertzer

Jikai Yan (BEc in Financial Engineering, Hunan University (China), MSc in Computational Applied Mathematics, University of Edinburgh) PhD Project: Stochastic Gradient Descent Algorithms for Imaging Problems, Supervisor: Otmar Scherzer
